Somebody said, “a hypocrite is a fellow who isn’t himself on Sundays.” We must seek to “practice what we preach” and constantly communicate with God. We must not stay away from Church because there maybe so many hypocrites. There is always room for more. Jesus says in Matthew 7:5, “thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” We must be careful so that we will not be found guilty of judging.
Billy Sunday wrote, “Hypocrites in the Church? Yes, and in the lodge and at home. Don’t hunt through the Church for a hypocrite. Go home and look in the glass. Hypocrites? Yes. See that you make the number one less.”
